Spookies in the Desert

Phoenix was really fun. It was over 80 degrees during the day so we could go swimming. And roam around the hotel. But we did some special fun things. One night we went to "RAWHIDE". Rawhide is set up like an old western town. But this time of year (Haloween), they turn Rawhide into DOOM TOWN!! It took Noah a little time to warm up to the cowboys. This was right outside the gates.
But as soon as they opened the gates, the SPOOKIES were waiting. There was a gun battle, and the cowboys lost...and the spookies took over DOOM TOWN.
It turns out the spookies were pretty nice...at least to Noah. He would tell them "BOO" and they were more scared of him then he was of them. And when they came up and tried to scare him, he just said "Hi", and that seemed to tame them. They said "hi" back, and usually wanted a "high five".
And did you know that spookies were ticklish???But not all of them were so nice. This guy didn't have a head...and so he didn't talk.
And look at these two scary spookies! Just hangin out outside the general store. This guy was Mr Death. But he was super nice. And his horse Bruno was nice too. We got to pet him.
We did lots of other things too. We toasted marshmallows on an open fire.
We got thrown in jail for a little while. But at least David wasn't alone.

But then we did two really fun things. We rode the "body wagon" out into the dark desert. It was only Kathy, David, Noah...and a ghoul. As they drive you through the dark lots of other ghouls jump out from behind buildings and rocks and things and yell and scream and scare you. David was pretty scared. Noah just said "hi" everytime a spookie jumped out at us!

But the most fun (for Noah) was, of course, the Train. When we got there the train was broken. The men were trying to fix it, and at first Noah was very sad. But they told him they would get it working, and Noah spent a long time just watching them work (and giving some advice). And they got it working!! The train also took us out into the dark desert and other ghosts and witches and ghouls jump out and scream and shake and yell at the train. This was a little scarier. But good thing we had Noah with us. He tamed them all!

Happy Halloween! We have lots more pictures coming from Phoenix (the wildlife preserve and a really cool train ride into the desert), some great school pictures, and then Halloween.

Catching up

We're a little behind on the blog. But 2 weeks ago we went to Linvilla. The last few years we went to Pumpkinland, and you probably remember all the pictures of Noah in the big pile of pumpkins. But this year, we didn't even make it to the pumpkins. Instead we had a picnic lunch first. Then we sat around. Then, the MOST FUN....was the Apple slingshot. Now this was fun. You buy 20 rotten apples (some with holes, etc that they can't sell) and get to sling them down a big hill at targets. The next big adventure was our trip to Phoenix. Kathy had to be there Mon-Wed, and David was invited to a meeting Saturday. So on Wednesday night, David and Noah flew to Phoenix together to meet mommy.

First we went to the USAir club and had some ice water (Noah's favorite) and cookies.
Then (with David's miles) we flew in the first row of the plane! How fun. Here Noah was watching "Toy Story" on the computer and trying to use the earphones.
Wait til you see what we did in Phoenix. We'll update the blog over the next couple days with fun in the Valley of the Sun....and some spooky pictures!

It's Fall!

Just thought we'd share some pictures of our little baby boy....baby boy???? Are you kidding?? Look what he's doing now!

Getting ready....
Just stretching a little....And GO.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,As you can see, Noah is playing Tot Soccer and is on the "Cotton Tails". He's Number 6
But there are lots of other things going on around here. We all went to services on Yom Kippur. Noah's school gave all the kids Shofars, and we now have a little and LOUD Shofar player in our house!
Then we went Strawberry picking. Kathy worked hard finding the best strawberries....
And then we got to eat them! (And yes...Noah ate lots of Strawberries!)

We had company two weeks ago...Aunt Erin was visitng by herself....next time she'll have to bring the rest of the Kentucky family, but it was great having her here.

Notice anything here? Does Noah look small to you? No more booster seat ("that's for little boys. I'm a big boy")
And eating a Turkey sandwich (with ketchup of course)! Now that's progress

Hey Noah, what do you think of that??
